The Cultural Experience + Corn includes a fully guided tour (on the hour) through Whakarewarewa Village, a Maori Cultural Performance Show at 11.15am and 2.00pm and a sweet-corn on the cob cooked in the bubbling geothermal waters of Parekohuru and served with butter, salt and pepper.
The fully guided tour by one of the guides from the Village will give you an understanding of the Maori, history, culture and the people and what it is like to live in the challenging environment of Whakarewarewa Valley where daily life includes cooking in the bubbling pools and steam vents and bathing in the refreshing and therapeutic waters.
The Maori Cultural Performance Show is performed by one of Rotorua's leading Kapa Haka groups - Te Pakira. The show includes waiata (songs) of our history, Patere ( rhythmic chants), performance of the world famous HAKA and an audience participation section which is always a fun time.
