Whaka Photo’s was opened by Eru Hall and Jan
Scott the current owners. Our shop specializes in
and Mud Products (facial creams/soaps) Wood carvings
Pendants (Jade NZ green stone/Bone) you can even
dress up in traditional Maori costume and have your
photo taken so come in have a look around or just
chat to our friendly staff and enjoy the local hospitality

Wakahuia Souvenirs is locally owned and operated
by local twin sisters Kim & Lee Haira. Since
2005 Wakahuia Souvenirs has been operating from
within Whakarewarewa Thermal Village. The name
Wakahuia was chosen as it is our hope that when
people have purchased gifts they purchase a treasure
hence the name Wakahuia (treasure box). We specialize
in jewellary with greenstone (Pounamu/NZ Jade)
being our most exclusive Bone/Mother of Pearl,
Paua (NZ Abalone). We also stock exotic range
of one off traditional Maori Carvings supporting
local carvers from within our tribe. Feel free
