Whakarewarewa Underway
The past 2 months have been very eventful for us here at Whakarewarewa Thermal Village Tours with the new developments happening within the village and plenty to look forward to.
You would have seen by now Robert Rika and his project team, Joe McBirney and Nicolas Smith working hard in the Rahui and really brining out the essence of Maori tradition meets sustainable efficiency.
Robert would like to thank everyone here for such a warm welcoming and says that “it’s awesome to be here”.
Our maintenance crew have done a fine job of re-gardening in a number of places through the village, including Wahiao Marae Atea, near Ned’s Café, and the entrance way to the Rahui.

Papa-takaro ( Easter weekend) went well. According to all the sports people of the world, if you don't get in early next year then you will not get in at all - there were teams just lining up for a place but to no avail.
The sports day included games such as: kiorahi, tennis, netball, volleyball, touch, and many more.
Until events like this happen, we do not realize how many talented people we have in and amongst our whanau. We need to get behind them, especially our tamariki and encourage all to play to their full potential. Who knows we might just have the next Venus Williams, Maria Tutaia or even a Turi Eparaima (kiorahi).
